Retired now
Now I am retired, worked an extra year, now through family circumstances
am living in Windsor and have a lovely garden this is why I'm on here
blogging again to record my progress in the garden.

Fed up now, had enough.
Well fed up now with trying to relocate these photo's from 2009 to be beside their pertinent article, must get on with more important things and come back to this later, at least Caleb's photo is up and running!
My new start and countdown to retirement.
So here I go again having recovered my blog account set up many years ago to record my writing and my history of my block of flats, all that has now gone by the wayside as I fast approach my retirement next May (yippee!) and other things have gone on in my life including becoming a grandmother and deciding I definitely enjoy reading more than writing.
One thing happening right now is trying to recover my weight loss which I have put back on over the last two years due to carelessness and illness, have joined Slimming World as got very out of touch with Weight-watchers, although I lost 3st with them, their new programme really does not seem to suit me at all, and I do find they have an awful lot of products in the shops now, which are mostly unhealthy snacks and ready meals. Just started to take SW seriously now as had a couple of weeks where I had to go out a lot and ate far too much. Never mind tomorrow, or in my case, today is another day and am now planning meals better.
I shall now see if I can upload a photo of my beautiful grandson, Caleb, just gone 1yr and starting to take his first steps, bless.

group on facebook
Since seeing the grp on facebook, you know you've lived in keighley when, have become interested in reviving my old blog about the high rise flats again and looking into their history, sadly they are being filled with tenants who do not want to be here these days, and the old days of pride in the flats have gone. I still love my flat however, and will try to upload a few photo's to show why, along with the ones already on the blog, I think this is the best two blocks of flats in the town, witha beautiful outlook and close enough to town to be easily accessible, it's a shame they're going to the dogs.

I love my flat
Been concerned about new rules for so called 'Social Housing' by this new spending review, glad I'm an existing tenant, your house is your home and not everyone can afford or wants to commit to a mortgage. Why is SH seen as the resort of the poor? Or the terminally unemployed? I've lived in these flats for going on 2oyrs and they are my home, I do not want to be re housed or have them demolished because my 'Social Landlord' can't be bothered to look after them. This is my family home where my children were brought up where I celebrated many highs and lows in my life, why am I seen as a social outcast because I want to continue living here, or I love living here? More so called SH is needed not less. Look at how many people have lost there homes through over extending themselves by buying property. Not all of us can afford to, or want to get ourselves into debt to be able to do so.
Anyhow, enough of that. I just love where I live and don't want to leave, not every high rise tenant is miserable about it, for some of us it's a lifestyle choice, okay.

All change
So altered a few things around and hope things look better and possibly a little clearer wish I could change the position of some of the images though I expect I'll find that out in due course.
Back on the job
Back to writing work now I'm on holiday for the week. Not done anything on here for months. Hope to put some writing on here this year and really get down to finishing my course and possibly getting something published, Even if it is just a letter in a magazine. Have discovered the joys of text editing which allows you to get the words down and not worry about editing until you need to. Or word count for that matter. Also, through Mslexia magazine discovered the drwicked site which is a bit of fun. You choose how many words you write in say 10 minutes and it gives you rewards or punishments if you don't manage it. Nothing too serious but it gets you writing for those assignments.
Been wonderfully snowy last few days so took a few photos which I'll post today.

- Keighley, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
- I am a 61yr old woman new to this blog thing so don't really know what I'm doing yet, so bear with me if things go wrong. I am looking forward to my retirement in 2014 and spending more time with my grandson seeing more of my family and friends and being able to have time to myself to indulge in my favourite pastimes..
